Hearing Center South is a full-service hearing aid distributor. We've been doing this for years, and we can help you take care of every stage of your hearing health, from prevention to diagnosis to treatment and maintenance. We're very thorough when we work with patients because it's important that you're satisfied with your hearing solution. We make sure that our patients understand their options and are at the heart of the decision-making process.
Hearing Technology Services
- Ear Mold Impressions: We can take quick, accurate impressions of your ears to be used for custom hearing aids or custom earplugs.
- Hearing Aid Fittings: We carry hearing aids from almost all major manufacturers. Once we understand your hearing loss, we'll recommend hearing aids that we think will be the best match. When possible, we'll fit you with a demo unit so you know what to expect, and we'll test your hearing aids in a variety of environments to make sure they suit your needs. All hearing aids come with a 30-45 day trial period.
- Hearing Aid Maintenance: We will continue to clean and service all hearing aids purchased from us for the life of the hearing aid. We recommend that patients come in every 3-6 months (depending on their ears) to have your hearing aids serviced.
Complimentary Hearing Examinations & Screenings
Introductory Hearing Screenings
Patients who aren't sure if they have hearing loss or who just want a baseline test to catch any problems early are welcome to come see us for a free hearing screening. Many vision patients choose to have their hearing screened while they wait for their appointment with Eye Center South. These tests take about half an hour.
Otoscopy and Audiometric Examination
Patients who are ready to pursue solutions for their hearing loss should schedule a more thorough examination with us. During these examinations, we'll examine your inner and outer ear and conduct a few tests to determine what kind of hearing loss you have, how severe it is, and what we can do to help it. These tests take about an hour and a half. We recommend that patients continue having a thorough examination every two years.
